Question 1

Are Snapgame games public?

Accepted Answer

Games are not listed in any public directory or search engine. Only people with the direct link can access your game. Without the link, nobody can find or play your game.

Question 2

How does the shareable link work?

Accepted Answer

Every game gets a unique URL (like snapgame.co/g/yourgame). You can copy this link and paste it anywhere — text messages, WhatsApp, Discord, Slack, email, social media. Anyone with the link can click and play immediately.

Question 3

Can I control who can play my game?

Accepted Answer

You can't password-protect individual games on the free plan. The link acts as the access key — only share it with people you want to play. For private classroom or corporate use, simply share the link only with your intended group.

Question 4

Can I make a game private so only I can see it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you don't share the game link, nobody can access it. The game exists at its URL but is effectively private as long as you keep the link to yourself.

Question 5

Do games expire or disappear if I don't share them?

Accepted Answer

Games persist as long as your account is active (or your anonymous session is maintained). Shared or not, your games remain at their URLs until you delete them.

Question 6

Can I delete a game after sharing it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can delete any game from your dashboard. Once deleted, the link will no longer work. Note that anyone who already has the link may have already played or screenshot the results — deletion removes the game but not prior sharing.

Question 7

Who can see my leaderboard scores?

Accepted Answer

Anyone who plays the game can see the full leaderboard — all player names and scores. This is similar to how Kahoot or Quizizz work. If you want private scores, don't use the leaderboard feature.

Question 8

Can I see who has played my game?

Accepted Answer

On the free plan, you can see aggregate play counts and the leaderboard. We don't provide individual player data beyond what's visible on the leaderboard. Team/pro plans will include more detailed analytics.

Question 9

Does Snapgame sell game data or player information?

Accepted Answer

No. Snapgame does not sell, rent, or share player data with third parties. Your games and player scores are private to you and your players.

Question 10

Are games suitable for children under 13?

Accepted Answer

Snapgame is appropriate for all ages. No personal data is required to play — players can use any name (or no name) when they play. There's no chat, comments, or public social features. Teachers can create games without students needing any account.

Question 11

What happens to my games if I sign out of my anonymous session?

Accepted Answer

If you created games while logged into an anonymous session (without a Clerk account), those games are tied to your browser cookie. If you switch browsers or clear cookies, you may lose access to managing those games. Creating a free Clerk account links your games to your account so they're accessible from any device.

Question 12

Can I transfer ownership of a game to someone else?

Accepted Answer

Currently, games cannot be transferred to another account. If you need someone else to manage a game, share your account credentials (not recommended) or recreate the game under their account.

Question 13

Can I use Snapgame games behind a company firewall or private network?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Snapgame games are standard web pages — they work anywhere with internet access, including behind corporate firewalls and on private networks. No VPN needed.
